Skating Movin' On Up in LIC

Gothamist reports on a "roof-breaking" that will take place this Thursday on the City Ice Pavillion in Long Island City, New York. It will become the city's only rooftop rink. It will be covered by a dome.

Also, for you Rangers fans (GO RANGERS!), all-time leading scorer Rod Gilbert will be on hand for the ceremony. Gothamist also links to an old New York Times article about the old Madison Square Garden rooftop rink.
