Buttle's Skating Future

Jeffrey Buttle will be skating in both the U.S. and Japan "Stars on Ice" tours this year. He'll make at least 20 stops on the U.S. tour, according to his web site and IFS Magazine.

Additionally, Buttle will be replacing Kurt Browning in "Skate for Life benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Starring Sara Evans," which is taking place tomorrow in Illinois. Browning unfortunately had to drop out of the show to be with his father, who is battling breast cancer (which is the disease the show is raising money for). NBC will air the skating special on October 25. Why, yes, skating fans. That IS the same day Skate America starts!

We wish all the best to Kurt and his father. Here is more on the show:

The NBC "Skating For Life" show will feature accomplished country icon, Sara Evans. The figure skating cast includes 2006 Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen, Rudy Galindo, Jozef Sabovcik, Emily Hughes, Jennifer Robinson and Steven Cousins are among the cast.

Each skater has been affected by breast cancer personally through family members or close friends.

Breast cancer runs in Buttle’s family as his great aunt passed away from the disease, and he is looking forward to the opportunity to skate for this important cause.
