Hersh: No Singles Medals for US in 2010
Philip Hersh, who always has a lot to say about our beloved sport, has gone out on a limb (his words) and predicted that the United States will not win any singles skating medals at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. "That has happened only once since World War II – in 1964, when the U.S. team was only three years removed from the plane crash that killed all its leading skaters," says Hersh. Anyone want to agree or disagree with that prediction?

I think it’s great that Hersh keeps finding interesting ways to make headlines for figure skating…
Because really, what’s the point of trying to guess that outcome right now? Other than to stir the pot, I mean.
Ice is slippery, and those blades are SO thin. Absolutely anything and everything can happen, and usually does. That’s part of the appeal.

I can’t even predict who’s going to medal this week, let alone a year (and some months) from now!
