Pairs Preview!

I am going to predict Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker will make this their second nationals in a row. I know that they didn't make it to the Grand Prix final and they had a lackluster second competition at Skate Canada, but the passion they had in their Skate America free skate showed me what they can do when they get a little bit of momentum. I'm hoping to see that spark again starting tomorrow! I would have to agree with Kelli at State of the Skate that they would have to meltdown in order for Inoue and Baldwin to win. I think Inoue and Baldwin will medal, however. Not sure which color. In my book, the other spot is likely to go to Tiffany Vise and Derek Trent, who do sometimes have the quad salchow throw but haven't quite broken through yet. As Kelli mentions, Castile and Okolski have won this thing before and perhaps they could be competitive here, but I am not ready to predict a medal for them. We'll see how they look this week!
