Your 2009 World Figure Skating Championships!

I am bitter that work is preventing me from attending this year's ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Los Angeles. But not too bitter that I will not provide you with a rundown of what's going on. The championships officially start on Sunday with practice sessions. Here is the competition schedule:

Tuesday, March 24 (Pacific Time):

1:00 pm: Compulsory Dance

7:00 pm: Pairs Short Program

Wednesday, March 25:

9:00 am: Men's Short Program (1st half)

1:30 pm: Men's Short Program (2nd half)

7:30 pm: Pair's Free Skating

Thursday, March 26

12:30 pm: Original Dance

5:35 pm: Men's Free Skating

Friday, March 27

8:45 am: Ladies Short Program (1st half)

1:20 pm: Ladies Short Program (2nd half)

6:30 pm: Free Dance

Saturday, March 28

4:00 pm: Ladies Free Skate

Sunday, March 29

2:00 pm: Exhibition

As for television viewing, those of you with Oxygen are in luck. Oxygen will be broadcasting the competition at the following times (all Eastern Standard):
March 25: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm (live)

March 26: 12:00 am to 2:00 am (live) and 11:00 pm to 2:00 am (live)

March 27: 4:30 to 6:30 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm (live)

March 28: 12:00 am to 2:00 am (live)

Here is the NBC schedule:

March 28: 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm (live)

Looks like Oxygen is showing quite a lot of skating, so this excites me. I believe NBC is showing the ladies.

Thanks for the tv schedule but I’m confused that some of the times are in the middle of the night and live???? What time zone are you in?

Sorry, the competition times are listed in Pacific time as the championships are in Los Angeles. The television times are listed in Eastern time (the time difference is the reason why they some of it is on in the middle of the night, I am guessing). I tried to clear it up in the post by adding “Pacific” to the post. Thanks!!

I watched all of the competition, but I was REALLY wanting to see the Exhibition performances, but I haven’t been able to locate them on TV schedule… do you know if they will be aired? Thanks!

I’m sorry – I can’t find anywhere that you can see the exhibitions. If I see that they’re airing I will post about it though. The only thing you can try right now is to search youtube for the performances if possible.
