Update on Johnny Weir's Reality Show

Variety writes that Sundance has ordered eight episodes of Johnny Weir's documentary television show, "Be Good Johnny Weir." We blogged about it long ago when it was called "Black Swan Rising." I like the swan title better, by the way, but I am guessing that it wasn't appropriate since swans will be so four years ago by the time Vancouver rolls around. I don't know if I get the Sundance channel but I feel like this will be don't miss television! The show follows Weir and coaches, choreographers, etc. as Weir prepares for the 2010 winter games, which he may or may not qualify for. DRAMA!!! When I find out about the premiere of the show, I'll let you know.

sadly, since this will have johnny focusing more on off-ice concerns, i don’t think it bodes will for his olympic pursuits! i hope i’m wrong.

I had the same concern but I am wondering if his not making/being left off the world team this year may have been enough to fire him up for next season? Also, if he doesn’t make the Olympics, there will be nothing to shoot for the second season of “Be Good Johnny Weir,” so there is some motivation as well. heh.
