Isabelle Delobel Pregnant

Thanks to State of the Skate and AFP, I know that Isabelle Delobel of Delobel and Schoenfelder is now pregant and due in September. She is also planning a June wedding with the baby's father, Nordic skier Ludovic Roux. I am not sure that this will change the fact that Delobel and Schoenfelder will be favorites for an Olympic medal next year. But, I've never had a baby, so I don't really know too much about how long she'll be able to skate beforehand and how she'll be feeling afterwards. But she is still set on the Olympic goal:

After a shoulder injury cut short her season in 2008 - having landed the world title in Gothenburg - Delobel told AFP: "My shoulder is much better and I returned to training a fortnight ago."

Asked about her gold medal ambitions she added; "This is really something dear to our hearts - Olivier and I want to write this beautiful story together. We want to bow out after 19 years together atop the podium in Vancouver listening to the Marseillaise.

"Of course the baby is very important and I am going to do all I can on that score, as is the father," said Delobel, who will marry former Nordic skier Ludovic Roux in June.
