Russian skater Andre Lutai, who just finished a 10th place finish in Skate America, was arrested in Lake Placid for stealing a car and driving drunk. Lutai is still in jail.

According to the AP:

Police in the Adirondack village say the car was stolen from a service station lot late Sunday night and followed by a garage employee who called police. Sgt. Carol Hayes says officers pulled over the 23-year-old Lutai, of St. Petersburg, a few minutes later.

Police have charged Lutai with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

He was being held Tuesday morning in the Essex County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.

What a sad turn of events for Lutai.
