Elvis Stojko thinks Plushenko was robbed
He seems to think it's all about the quad. He thinks even Takahashi should have been above Lysacek.

Augh!
Elvis Stojko just takes every opportunity that he can to whine about the quad. Takahashi didn’t even land his! That’s crazy. Even if you think Plushenko deserved the gold (which I can’t get behind in this case because his jumps were all so shaky), how can you think that Takahashi deserved to be ahead of Lysacek??

This article annoyed me to death
when I read it last night after the competition. Seriously, Elvis. Just because there’s a really difficult trick out there, if you don’t do it doesn’t mean you’re less of a quality skater.
I know in the article he tries to make it sound like he’s coming down on the ISU, but he really comes down on all the skaters that dare to focus on the other parts of their program to make themselves more complete. Skating is not all about jumping. He can go join Plushenko in the “this is dancing” camp.
Thanks for the heads up, JasonB. I ended up blogging about the article because I was so annoyed. And I agree, freesia, despite his insistence that he is not criticizing the skaters, he is totally dissing Lysacek at the beginning and several other parts. If you want to critique aspects of Lysacek’s skating, that’s fine, but I really feel like last night was the right result.
