Kiira Korpi Ill

This news is a little late, but it's pretty big so I decided to put it up. Apparently, Kiira Korpi is too ill to skate right now, and has pulled out of her first scheduled competition, Finlandia Trophia, scheduled for October. This is according to a report posted at International Figure Skating Magazine.

The illness itself sounds a bit disturbing, in as much as it doesn't seem like anyone really knows what's wrong.

Korpi is suffering from an as yet undiagnosed ailment. Her legs have not recovered from hard training, and she has now developed a fever to add to her woes. Korpi is being treated in Tampere by several sports injury specialists.

After an excellent training program in June, July and August, almost everything has gone wrong since.

Her troubles began in late August when Korpi had to take four weeks off from training. She returned to the ice one week ago, but the situation is still unstable and she is unable to do any triple jumps.

I hope that it's nothing too serious and that the doctors can figure out what's wrong and Korpi can be back on the ice but more importantly, back to being healthy. I'll let you know if I see any updates.
