FIrst and most important, I'd like to extend best wishes to Meagan Duhamel of Canada's Duhamel and Buntin. She hurt her leg on a warmup fall, looked unbalanced the whole program, and took a horrifying spill during a throw. The team could not continue, and we hope that she's doing ok.
On a more positive note, there was some really nice skating out there today. Although the US pairs did not medal, there were several positive moments, particularly for Evora and Ladwig and McLaughlin and Brubaker, who finished in fifth and fourth places, respectively.

As for the ice dancing, Belbin and Agosto looked great - they are getting better. I see a lot of room for improvement and I'm sure they will be even crisper by nationals but I really think they made a great choice for their original dance. I am also quite impressed by Navarro and Bommentre. They've taken a chance with their music and I think it's paying off - another improved pair.
Russia's Khokhlova and Novitski had their fair share of troubles, but remain in second place overall, despite finishing in fifth in the OD.
