Joannie Rochette trails Cynthia Phaneuf after the short program at the Canadian national figure skating championships, according to Canadian Press. Phaneuf has 66.30 while Rochette has 64.15. The same situation happened last year but Rochette came back to win.
Rochette had a fall in her program but she is only a couple of points behind - that's actually a pretty good sign considering Phaneuf skated clean. It shows how much the judges like Rochette's skating. Amelie Lacoste is in third. Here are the full results.
