Rachael Flatt skated through tendinitis to win the silver medal at Skate America yesterday, but Japan's Kanako Murakami was the true story, winning her first of what is sure to be many Grand Prix gold medals, and likely securing herself a slot in the Grand Prix Final. Carolina Kostner came back down to earth but was able to hold on for the bronze.
In ice dancing, a rough day for ice dancing as both the gold and silver medalists Davis and White and Crone and Poirier had falls...brought on by some sloppiness. But another great day for America's Shibutani and Shibutani who won their second bronze medal of the Grand Prix.
Full results after the jump.
