Former U.S. National champions Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker have ended their partnership, according to Figure Skaters Online. And it sounds like McLaughlin is ready for a break from competitive skating:
“Rockne and I have had an amazing career together, and I can’t thank him enough for that,” McLaughlin said. “Right now I feel like I need to devote time to school as well as other interests – photography, art, dance – and spend some time away from skating competitively.”
They were a dynamic pair who could not live up to the potential everyone saw in them early on and sadly did not make this year's Olympic team. Good luck to both of them with their future endeavors and possible future partnerships!
