Olympic skating champ Kim Yu-Na has been named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, per the Korea Times. She seems like a great choice.
Kim's commitment to assist with relief efforts in Haiti, where children and families are still suffering following a huge earthquake in January, was recognized by the global organization.
"We are confident that the appointment of Yuna Kim as a Goodwill Ambassador will help raise the profile of the Millennium Development Goals for children and will contribute to the promotion of children's rights around the world," said UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake on the organization's website.
The article doesn't explain what Kim's duties will be but I'm sure we'll see her in some UNICEF-related activities in the future.
