Japanese Nationals Update

IT HAPPENED. Daisuke Takahashi landed a clean quad. Not only that, but he tacked a triple toe on the end of his first clean quad toe of the season. Someone wants to be a contender. Takahashi did all this in the short program at the Japanese Nationals. He scored over 96 points, which is extremely high.

Takahashi only came in third in the free skate, which was won by Yuzuru Hanyu. Takahashi was able to win the competition, with Takahiko Kozuka coming in second, and Hanyu third, according to Twitter updates.

In the ladies short program, Kanako Murakami has a slight lead over Mao Asada, with Akiko Suzuki coming in third place.
