National bronze medalists Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett have had to withdraw from the Four Continents Championship due to injury. Barrett received a leg injury when he was cut by Denney's blade. He received numerous stitches, according to Universal Sports.
Denney and Barrett will be replaced by Mary Beth Marley and Rockne Brubaker, who placed fourth at the recent U.S. National figure skating championships. Marley and Brubaker are a new pair and this is a great chance for some high profile exposure for the two. Here is a Chicago Tribune article on the two.
Hopefully, Barrett just needs to recover from his stitches and will not suffer any long-term problems from the cut.
