On the injury report is Nobunari Oda, who apparently has a partial tear in his left patella tendon according to The Mainichi Daily News.
Oda will need about six weeks of complete rest but is expected to recover in time for the 2011-12 season, according to his doctor.
Oda felt pain in his left knee during last month's world championships in Moscow, where he placed second after the short program but ended up in sixth.
Apparently, the diagnosis for now is to try to use the rest to avoid surgery. Hopefully, Oda will be back and have a full recovery. I am also hoping he has enrolled in a math course for his down time.
