U.S. Figure Skating shows that new pair Caydee Denney and John Coughlin have now been assigned to the NHK Trophy. I believe they are taking the slot vacated by China's Pang and Tong.
I'm glad to see Denney and Coughlin on the roster - the Grand Prix pairs outlook was getting bleak for the Americans, with the biggest names being Amanda Evora and Mark Ladwig. But competition will be stiff at NHK - Denney and Coughlin will be up against world champs Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany, not to mention Russia's Yuko Kavaguti and Alexander Smirnov and Lubov Iliushechkina and Nodari Maisuradze, and Japan's Narumi Takahashi and Mervin Tran.
Here are links to Denney and Coughlin's short program and free skate that they'll be competing this season.
There is one more TBD USA slot in the very first Grand Prix at Skate America. Not sure if that will go to Denney and Coughlin or someone else...
