Chan Leads Men at Four Continents

New, 1 comment

The Four Continents Championships got under way last night in Colorado Springs. Reigning world champion Patrick Chan leads the field despite putting both hands down on his quadruple toe loop. But the night really belonged to Japanese up-and-comers Takahito Mura and Tatsuki Machida, who both performed clean programs and sit in second and fourth place, respectively. They weren't up to the program components of some of the more well-known skaters but they were pretty fun to watch last night. Japan's Daisuke Takahashi fell on his quad attempt and is in third place.

America's Ross Miner had a lovely and successful short program but it did not have the technical content necessary to get him higher than sixth place. Adam Rippon was doing well but then after he landed his Rippon lutz he fell, so sad. So he is in seventh place now.
