News has been a bit slow, but here are some of the headlines:

-Canada's Cynthia Phaneuf is out of the Grand Prix this year as she recovers from a stress fracture in her back. Phaneuf is a two-time Canadian champion, though she lost this year's Nationals (Amelie Lacoste won).

-Golden Skate has a profile on German ice dancers Nelli Zhiganshina and Alexander Gazsi. The team hopes to crack the world top ten this season (they placed 11th at the 2011 and 2012 world championships). They have been working in Moscow with choreographers and circus artists.

-Skaters and some of the world's top coaches and choreographers flocked to Lake Placid a few weeks ago for Grassroots 2 Champions Camp, created by coach Audrey Weisiger. Read more about it here.

-Johnny Weir was on Say Yes to the Dress with manager Tara Modlin last week.
